Police believe that the burnt remains of a man found in the trunk of a car yesterday, are those of missing Sangre Grande resident Dane Hosein Jr.
Hosein, 32, of Quash Trace, Sangre Grande, was last seen at 10 am on Tuesday, after leaving his girlfriend’s home promising to return home soon, but never did.
At 3 pm yesterday, the burnt remnants of his car were found along Ojoe Road, North Eastern Settlement, Sangre Grande, in an area known as Bois Bande Village. A body was later found in the trunk.
In an unrelated incident, a 79-year-old man is dead after the vehicle he and his son were travelling in plunged approximately 11 feet into a river in Gran Couva.
Police said Shaheed Mohammed, of Lamont Street, Longdenville, was with his son, Sheldon, at the time of the accident.
Police believe Sheldon fell asleep while driving along the Brasso Tabaquite road at 2.50 am. The vehicle veered off the roadway and plunged into a river. After regaining consciousness, Sheldon tried to resuscitate Mohammed but was unsuccessful.
