Po­lice are prob­ing the mur­der of a 22-year-old Ari­ma man and the wound­ing of an­oth­er at a Mal­abar bar ear­ly Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion re­ceived a re­port of a shoot­ing at Pro Bar on Mal­abar Ex­ten­sion Road, around 3.50 am and went to the scene.

On reach­ing the scene of­fi­cers found the body of Zion Butch­er alias ‘Pa­pi’ at the cor­ner of La Croix and Mal­abar Ex­ten­sion Road.

A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer al­so vis­it­ed the scene and de­clared Butch­er dead.

Of­fi­cers were told that a 45-year-old man was al­so shot in the at­tack but was tak­en to hos­pi­tal be­fore po­lice got to the scene.

The wound­ed man is said to be sta­ble.

Of­fi­cers of the Spe­cial Ev­i­dence Re­cov­ery Unit (SERU) vis­it­ed the scene and found 13 spent 9 mm shell cas­ings.

Po­lice from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
