A Laven­tille man was killed last night dur­ing a shoot­ing at Claris Clarke Trace, while an el­der­ly man was left nurs­ing in­juries.

The de­ceased was iden­ti­fied as Shaquille John, 24, of St John Street, Laven­tille.

An 80-year-old man who lives near­by was shot in the left thigh dur­ing the in­ci­dent.

Res­i­dents re­port­ed hear­ing gun­shots around 7:30 pm and up­on check­ing, they found John's body on the road.

The sec­ond man was found a short dis­tance away and was tak­en to hos­pi­tal by a res­i­dent where he was treat­ed and ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion.
