A 36-year-old man is dead, and another man has been left injured following a drive-by shooting at a bar in Rio Claro last night.
The deceased has been identified as Terry Aaron of Naparima Mayaro Road, Union Village, Rio Claro.
Guardian Media understands Aaron and a 38-year-old man were liming in front of the Fifty Shades of Gold bar along Naparima Mayaro Road in Union Village, around 11:45 pm on Saturday, when two gunmen came out of some bushes opposite the bar and opened fire on them.
The victims ran into the bar where Aaron died, while patrons took the other man to the Mayaro Health Facility.
He was treated and transferred to the Sangre Grande General Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Police recovered 17 spent 5.56 shells, seven spent 9 mm shells, seven projectile fragments and two projectiles at the scene.
Investigations are continuing.
