A 43-year-old man was gunned down in Cara­po on Thurs­day af­ter­noon. Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at 4.30 pm El­lis Gup­py of Cara­po was shot dead along Race Course Road, Cara­po.

Po­lice said Gup­py was a pas­sen­ger in a white Mit­subishi pan­el van which was forced to stop when a black Nis­san X-trail pulled up in front of it.

The gun­men then opened fire on Gup­py, killing him on the scene. The gun­men re-en­tered the X-trail and es­caped. Po­lice are yet to de­ter­mine a mo­tive for the killing which has brought the mur­der count to 346.

In an­oth­er in­ci­dent, the de­com­pos­ing body of a woman po­lice con­sta­ble was found at her home in La Hor­quet­ta.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 4.49 pm of­fi­cers of the La Hor­quet­ta po­lice sta­tion re­ceived a re­port that the body of a woman was found at a house along Dun­sley Av­enue, Green­vale.
