A Mal­oney man was ar­rest­ed on Sun­day hours af­ter he al­leged­ly as­sault­ed his moth­er and fa­ther at their home. Po­lice had pre­vi­ous­ly warned him af­ter he had threat­ened them.

The el­der­ly cou­ple was at their home at Sar­gent Dri­ve, Red Hill, D’Abadie around 7 am on No­vem­ber 19, when their 26-year-old son picked up two boul­ders and walked up to the fa­ther and or­dered him to stop look­ing at him.

The cou­ple con­tact­ed po­lice who vis­it­ed the house and cau­tioned the sus­pect against threat­en­ing per­sons liv­ing in the home.

Hours lat­er, an emer­gency call was re­ceived via the Com­mand Cen­tre of a sit­u­a­tion at the house.

Ar­riv­ing of­fi­cers found the moth­er with wounds to the face, where she had been struck with a piece of wood by her son. The fa­ther had been beat­en about the body, and sev­er­al boul­ders thrown at the house caus­ing dam­age to win­dows and doors.

The sus­pect who was still at the res­i­dence was ar­rest­ed and tak­en to the Mal­oney Po­lice Sta­tion.
