Po­lice in To­ba­go have so far solved two out of the six mur­ders on the is­land for this year.

Ac­cord­ing to the TTPS, the four oth­er in­ves­ti­ga­tions are be­ing "ac­tive­ly pur­sued."

In a state­ment the po­lice said the sec­ond per­son to be charged for mur­der is Miguel Ce­les­tine, 34, from Ply­mouth.

Ce­les­tine ap­peared vir­tu­al­ly be­fore the Scar­bor­ough Mag­is­trates’ Court yes­ter­day charged with the killing of Ha­keem Thomas on May 9.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Thomas was at the cor­ner of Buc­coo Road and Robert Trace, Mt Pleas­ant when a sil­ver grey Nis­san Note ve­hi­cle pulled up and sev­er­al loud ex­plo­sions were heard.

Thomas was shot and tak­en to hos­pi­tal where he was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival.

Ce­les­tine was charged with Mur­der, Pos­ses­sion of a Firearm and Pos­ses­sion of Am­mu­ni­tion.

He is ex­pect­ed to reap­pear on June 20.
