Po­lice are still try­ing to iden­ti­fy a man who was found dead in an out­door wash­room in Ch­agua­nas on Mon­day morn­ing.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the man, who was stabbed to death, was dis­cov­ered ly­ing on the floor of the out­door area around 6 am by the home­own­er, who had gone out to use the toi­let and show­er.

Of­fi­cers ar­rived at the house at Charles Trace, which is off Good­will Street, En­ter­prise, to find the vic­tim dead.

The own­er said he awoke around 6 am and went out to re­lieve him­self when he stum­bled up­on the body. The toi­let and bath, which ad­joins the home and is sep­a­rat­ed by a cor­ri­dor, is open and un­se­cured in an un­fin­ished con­crete struc­ture. The vic­tim, who is of African de­scent and dark in com­plex­ion, was said to be medi­um in build and ap­prox­i­mate­ly 5’7” tall. He was ly­ing on his back in the wash­room, clad in long blue jeans, a black hood­ie t-shirt and bare feet. He bore stab wounds about his head, face and neck.

Of­fi­cers found pieces of a bro­ken bot­tle near the body.

Po­lice sus­pect the man had run to­wards the house, as foot­prints and droplets of blood were ob­served com­ing from the main ac­cess road. Of­fi­cers be­lieve he ran to the wash­room to hide but col­lapsed and died.
