A shooting in Port-of-Spain early on Wednesday morning led to a 39-year-old man being injured.
Police said the man was walking on Oxford Street, around 1.30 am when a silver car drove near him.
The man told police he heard several gunshots and began running from the car before feeling a burning sensation in his right leg.
Passers-by took the injured man to hospital where a bullet was removed from his right knee.
Investigators found three spent 9 mm shells and a live round of ammunition.
Investigators tried interviewing the victim but he was in too much pain to speak with officers.
Officers of the Besson Street CID are expected to view security camera footage as part of their investigation.
