One day after a man was gunned down outside the Belmont Police Station, another man was killed in what police suspect is an ongoing gang war in Belmont.
Police said Kevin Granger was standing near the St Francois Valley Road Plannings around 5.45 pm Tuesday evening when a black Nissan Teana drove up to him.
Three gunmen got out of the car and shot Granger several times before getting back in the car and driving off.
Passersby took Granger to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead.
Officers of the Port of Spain Task Force found the getaway car abandoned at the corner of Siparia Hill and Belgrave Street.
Inside the car police found three spent 5.56 shells.
At the crime scene police found 15 spent 5.56 shells.
The vehicle was towed to a police station where further analyses are expected to be done by crime scene investigators.
Granger's death comes one day after Kevon Moses was gunned down outside the Belmont Police Station after being released from custody.
Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are investigating both killings.
