Scores of Fyzabad residents are still marooned in their homes due to floods following heavy overnight and early morning showers.
While several water courses spilled over into the streets and properties in several communities, the hardest hit areas were along the main road near Anand Low Price Supermarket, Standard Road, Chatoor Trace and Mulchan Road.

Walking through the floodwaters, one resident Vishram Deoroop said several roads are now impassable.
"I came out to help other villagers and see what they could salvage," he said.
Shouting from their porch at their Mulchan Trace home, the Mulchan family complained that they could not leave their home, which was surrounded by floodwaters.
