The 3Stone Research and Consulting Ltd team which founded the National Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC) poses with this year’s champions from Marabella North Secondary School.

The Marabella North Secondary School team Wheels and Deals has been named the champions of this year's National Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC).

The team of form four students Maurique Joseph, Jayden Stewart-Honore, Elissa Moze and Latisha Figaro ended the competition with 224.268 points.

The Marabella North Secondary School team was able to hold off the challenge of two teams from St James Secondary School.

The St James Secondary School team Ultimate Bikerz Inc placed second and the school's Lyon Bikes team placed third in the competition.

This year's edition of NSSEC saw 600 participants engaged in over 5,000 hours of entrepreneurship training, Dr Christian Stone of 3Stone Research and Consulting Ltd stated.

NSSEC is an online virtual competition that doubles as an innovative entrepreneurial training programme.

It utilises a life-like simulation experience where participants act as business owners making tough strategic business decisions that become increasingly challenging.

"Traditionally business education is divided into silos, marketing, finance, human resources, the NSSEC programme brings together all of the elements into one cohesive unit so the students learn how to function as entrepreneurs, " Stone stated.

Marabella North Secondary School's Facebook page lauded the school's teams.

Apart from wining the competition, the Marabella North Secondary school team Aesthetic Bikes Co-operation placed sixth overall.

The form five team, comprised of Larissa Tuitt, Christon Papoonsingh, Tyrel Acosta and Isaiah Guevara.

"Marabella North Secondary does not take these victories lightly. In a time when so many within our country are affected by the pandemic, our students continue to break barriers and elevate the name and image of our school. For this, we salute each of them for their hard work and commitment throughout the various stages of the competition," it stated.

"None of this would have been possible however without the enthusiasm, vision and guidance of Mr Sunil Bridglal, our MET teacher, who worked tirelessly with both groups to ensure victory. Sir, our school applauds you! Hats off to all those who were part of the competition and we certainly look forward to more exciting opportunities / avenues through which our students can shine, it stated.
