Brendon Romain, also known as ‘Maverick’ is scheduled to appear at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court today charged with wounding with intent.
The 41-year-old of Lendore Village, Chaguanas, was charged yesterday in relation to a shooting incident which allegedly occurred on November 8th.
The charges include wounding with intent, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm to endanger life and possession of ammunition to endanger life.
According to police reports, on November 8th around 3.58 am, the victim was sitting on a culvert near his home in Longdenville, Chaguanas when he was approached by a man known to him.
The gunman allegedly shot the victim twice on his right leg and fled the scene. The victim was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex and was warded in a stable condition.
Officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID) continued inquiries which resulted in the arrest of the suspect on November 26th. He was subsequently charged by PC Douglas on November 30th.
