The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services will be distributing 2020 COVID-19 social support cheques to citizens who were financially affected by the pandemic.
According to the ministry, the cheques are now available for collection.
In a statement, the ministry said it will facilitate the collection of these cheques at its head office, Clico building, St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain.
The distribution of cheques began yesterday and will run through to October 20, according to the following schedule released by the ministry.
The distribution of the cheques would take place in alphabetical order, according to the recipient’s surname.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services has advised that citizens in Tobago, who would be receiving cheques should collect them at the Social Welfare office, located at Wilson Road, Scarborough, Tobago. Those cheques will be available from October 11 and continuing.
The ministry added those collecting their cheques must present their identification cards used when they applied for COVID relief.
It has also advised that to safeguard the health and safety of the ministry’s staff and clients, people are kindly advised to remain six feet apart when lining up for service.
Members of the public visiting the Ministry of Social Development and Family Service’s offices are also asked to wear face masks and comply with on-site security.
