Minister of Social Development Donna Cox visited the Ministry’s Point Fortin Local Board Office to hear staff concerns and address any issues they may have. Among the issues raised by staff was a need for suitable accommodations.
Noting their concerns Minister Cox prompted the Ministry to find suitable and safe accommodation for both clients and staff. She further indicated that she has enlisted the assistance of the MP to source a staff and client-friendly location.
Staff also raised concerns about client influx, health, safety and accessibility. Minister Cox encouraged staff to ensure that the clients they serve are treated with dignity and respect.

Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, paid an impromptu visit to the Ministry’s Point Fortin Local Board Office, on Friday 19th November 2021 to hear staff concerns and address any issues they may have.
Minister Cox was accompanied by staff of the Ministry and was joined by Member of Parliament for the area, Kennedy Richards. During the visit, staff members were able to relay their concerns to the Minister, including the need for suitable accommodation.
Noting their concerns, Minister Cox informed staff that the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the way we share public spaces and has further prompted the Ministry to look into finding suitable and safe accommodation for both clients and staff. She further indicated that she has enlisted the assistance of the MP to source a staff and client friendly location.
