A woman es­caped death af­ter a con­crete light pole and trans­former fell on her wind­shield while dri­ving through Pleas­antville.

First re­spon­ders and T&TEC work­ers at the scene de­scribed her near death en­counter as a mirac­u­lous es­cape.

She was dri­ving be­hind a ce­ment truck in her black Kia Rio along Cha­co­nia Dri­ve around 10.30 am when the truck pulled down the over­head elec­tri­cal lines and pole.

"She got away twice be­cause if the im­pact did not kill her, the volt­age could have," said a T&TEC em­ploy­ee.

The woman de­clined an in­ter­view. San Fer­nan­do May­or Robert Par­ris told re­porters the woman was lucky to have sur­vived. He said ve­hi­cles ex­ceed­ing a cer­tain height are sup­posed to in­form the city cor­po­ra­tion when they are pass­ing through cer­tain ar­eas but they re­ceived no no­ti­fi­ca­tion. He said they will be look­ing at en­forc­ing that law. Fire fight­ers of the Mon Re­pos Fire Sta­tion, of­fi­cers of the Mon Re­pos Po­lice Sta­tion and T&TEC are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
