Miss World Trinidad and Tobago (MWTT) is pleased to announce the top three winners of its Top Model Competition, sponsored by Toyota Trinidad and Tobago Limited, which was held on Saturday 15th October 2022 at the Toyota Showroom South Park, San Fernando.
The winners were, in no particular order, Anhasi Contracting Services Miss Maracas Valley Achè Abrahams, Fitness Centre Miss Arima Jemima Pierre, and Brix Autograph Miss Plymouth Karielle Ramsden.
The winner of the MWTT Top Model Competition will be fast-tracked to the top ten semi-finalists and announced at the Grand Pageant Finale which takes place on Sunday 6th November 2022 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain.
The 17 MWTT Top Finalists were judged on confidence, stage presence, elegance and carriage of their outfits.
The 17 MWTT Top Finalists donned swimsuits fashioned by Resort-Wear Designer Brand Rhion Romany and High Fashion pieces produced by Trinidad and Tobago’s Top Local Fashion Designers, including Shaun Griffith Perez, Tobye Gill, Heather Jones, Chandra Maharaj, Claudia Pegus, Zadd & Eastman, Lisa Sargeant Gonzales & Lisa Faye, Rajendra Sahadeosingh, Saleem Samuel, Kasa's Designs, Stephen Bassanio, Khalisha Khristi, Neha Karina, Tyron Kerr, UniquleyU, Dominique LA Roche and Daronte Guadeloupe
Daronte Guadelope was chosen as the Top Designer of the MWTT Top Model Competition with a custom-made dress made from Bridal Satin and hand painted with acrylic fabric paint. It consisted of a bustier, an eight-panel gore coat and paired with bell trousers. It was made with over 10 yards of fabric and meant to evoke “regality” and epitomize elegance and sophistication. His design was worn by Top Finalist Fitness Centre’s Miss Arima Jemima Pierre.
Charu Lochan Dass, National Pageant Director and Franchise Holder said her vision is to produce the best possible delegates to represent Trinidad and Tobago on an international platform and create role models for society, “I can safely say at this juncture we have accomplished both. This obviously was achieved by sheer hard work and training. Our 17 finalists went through six weeks of training with the likes of Richard Young who taught them Choreography and Deportment; Adrian Raymond who trains them with the Question and Answer segment, Lisa Ghany on Protocols, Dining & Etiquette and a series of other training sessions which included Basic Media Training, Stage presence and Presentation, Fitness, Photography Presentation and Makeup Application just to name a few.”
This transformation, Mrs. Lochan Dass explained, is a culmination of hard work and dedication not just from the Pageant trainers and the organizing team, but more so from the girls. She said, “The passion and dedication and the willingness to learn is what these young women brought to the table, and they certainly did not disappoint. It’s really a heart-warming experience to see the metamorphosis.”
She thanked Toyota T&T Limited, SM Group, Trinidad Tourism Limited, The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Sacha Cosmetics and special performer on the night College Boy Jesse as well as the judges.
The judging panel for the MWTT Toyota T&T Top Model Competition, comprised the following: Rana Ibrahim, Bari Khan (Toyota), Richard Young, Adrian Raymond, Phaedra Adele, Charu Lochan Dass, Giselle Laronde West, Sham Mohammed, Dr. Reiaz Mohammed and Ashvin Bally.
In attendance were His Worship Junior Regrello, Mayor of San Fernando, former international star cricketer Brian Lara, Mr. Ryan Latchu, President Toyota T&T, and reigning Miss World T&T 2021 Jeanine Brandt.
The hosts for the evening were former Miss World T&T Delegate Jynnyn Edwards and Jason Williams, both of whom are radio and television announcers.
