Miss Mara­cas Val­ley Achè Abra­hams, Miss Ari­ma Jemi­ma Pierre, and Miss Ply­mouth Karielle Rams­den were crowned the top three win­ners of the Miss World Trinidad and To­ba­go Top Mod­el Com­pe­ti­tion, spon­sored by Toy­ota Trinidad and To­ba­go Lim­it­ed.

The win­ner of the MWTT Top Mod­el Com­pe­ti­tion will be fast-tracked to the top ten se­mi-fi­nal­ists and an­nounced at the Grand Pageant Fi­nale which takes place on Sun­day 6th No­vem­ber 2022 at the Na­tion­al Acad­e­my for the Per­form­ing Arts (NA­PA), Port of Spain.

Miss World Trinidad and To­ba­go (MWTT) is pleased to an­nounce the top three win­ners of its Top Mod­el Com­pe­ti­tion, spon­sored by Toy­ota Trinidad and To­ba­go Lim­it­ed, which was held on Sat­ur­day 15th Oc­to­ber 2022 at the Toy­ota Show­room South Park, San Fer­nan­do.

The win­ners were, in no par­tic­u­lar or­der, An­hasi Con­tract­ing Ser­vices Miss Mara­cas Val­ley Achè Abra­hams, Fit­ness Cen­tre Miss Ari­ma Jemi­ma Pierre, and Brix Au­to­graph Miss Ply­mouth Karielle Rams­den.

The win­ner of the MWTT Top Mod­el Com­pe­ti­tion will be fast-tracked to the top ten se­mi-fi­nal­ists and an­nounced at the Grand Pageant Fi­nale which takes place on Sun­day 6th No­vem­ber 2022 at the Na­tion­al Acad­e­my for the Per­form­ing Arts (NA­PA), Port of Spain.

The 17 MWTT Top Fi­nal­ists were judged on con­fi­dence, stage pres­ence, el­e­gance and car­riage of their out­fits.

The 17 MWTT Top Fi­nal­ists donned swim­suits fash­ioned by Re­sort-Wear De­sign­er Brand Rhion Ro­many and High Fash­ion pieces pro­duced by Trinidad and To­ba­go’s Top Lo­cal Fash­ion De­sign­ers, in­clud­ing Shaun Grif­fith Perez, To­bye Gill, Heather Jones, Chan­dra Ma­haraj, Clau­dia Pe­gus, Zadd & East­man, Lisa Sargeant Gon­za­les & Lisa Faye, Ra­jen­dra Sa­hadeosingh, Saleem Samuel, Kasa's De­signs, Stephen Bas­sanio, Khal­isha Khristi, Ne­ha Ka­ri­na, Ty­ron Kerr, Uniqu­leyU, Do­minique LA Roche and Daronte Guade­loupe

Daronte Guade­lope was cho­sen as the Top De­sign­er of the MWTT Top Mod­el Com­pe­ti­tion with a cus­tom-made dress made from Bridal Satin and hand paint­ed with acrylic fab­ric paint. It con­sist­ed of a busti­er, an eight-pan­el gore coat and paired with bell trousers. It was made with over 10 yards of fab­ric and meant to evoke “re­gal­i­ty” and epit­o­mize el­e­gance and so­phis­ti­ca­tion. His de­sign was worn by Top Fi­nal­ist Fit­ness Cen­tre’s Miss Ari­ma Jemi­ma Pierre.

Charu Lochan Dass, Na­tion­al Pageant Di­rec­tor and Fran­chise Hold­er said her vi­sion is to pro­duce the best pos­si­ble del­e­gates to rep­re­sent Trinidad and To­ba­go on an in­ter­na­tion­al plat­form and cre­ate role mod­els for so­ci­ety, “I can safe­ly say at this junc­ture we have ac­com­plished both. This ob­vi­ous­ly was achieved by sheer hard work and train­ing. Our 17 fi­nal­ists went through six weeks of train­ing with the likes of Richard Young who taught them Chore­og­ra­phy and De­port­ment; Adri­an Ray­mond who trains them with the Ques­tion and An­swer seg­ment, Lisa Ghany on Pro­to­cols, Din­ing & Eti­quette and a se­ries of oth­er train­ing ses­sions which in­clud­ed Ba­sic Me­dia Train­ing, Stage pres­ence and Pre­sen­ta­tion, Fit­ness, Pho­tog­ra­phy Pre­sen­ta­tion and Make­up Ap­pli­ca­tion just to name a few.”

This trans­for­ma­tion, Mrs. Lochan Dass ex­plained, is a cul­mi­na­tion of hard work and ded­i­ca­tion not just from the Pageant train­ers and the or­ga­niz­ing team, but more so from the girls. She said, “The pas­sion and ded­i­ca­tion and the will­ing­ness to learn is what these young women brought to the ta­ble, and they cer­tain­ly did not dis­ap­point. It’s re­al­ly a heart-warm­ing ex­pe­ri­ence to see the meta­mor­pho­sis.”

She thanked Toy­ota T&T Lim­it­ed, SM Group, Trinidad Tourism Lim­it­ed, The Min­istry of Tourism, Arts and Cul­ture, Sacha Cos­met­ics and spe­cial per­former on the night Col­lege Boy Jesse as well as the judges.

The judg­ing pan­el for the MWTT Toy­ota T&T Top Mod­el Com­pe­ti­tion, com­prised the fol­low­ing: Rana Ibrahim, Bari Khan (Toy­ota), Richard Young, Adri­an Ray­mond, Phae­dra Adele, Charu Lochan Dass, Giselle Laronde West, Sham Mo­hammed, Dr. Reiaz Mo­hammed and Ashvin Bal­ly.

In at­ten­dance were His Wor­ship Ju­nior Re­grel­lo, May­or of San Fer­nan­do, for­mer in­ter­na­tion­al star crick­eter Bri­an Lara, Mr. Ryan Latchu, Pres­i­dent Toy­ota T&T, and reign­ing Miss World T&T 2021 Jea­nine Brandt.

The hosts for the evening were for­mer Miss World T&T Del­e­gate Jyn­nyn Ed­wards and Ja­son Williams, both of whom are ra­dio and tele­vi­sion an­nounc­ers.

A per­for­mance was done by Col­lege Boy Jesse, with his 2023 Car­ni­val re­lease of the song ti­tled “Woman”.

The MWTT Beau­ty with a Pur­pose Com­pe­ti­tion will be held on Thurs­day 27th Oc­to­ber 2022 at the Brix Au­to­graph, and the MWTT D. Ram­per­sad & Com­pa­ny Ltd. Tal­ent Com­pe­ti­tion will take place on Sun­day 30th Oc­to­ber 2022 at Es­tate 101 in Mar­aval.
