A Morvant mason, whose alias was “Doh Sleep,” was killed whilst helping to build a house in San Juan yesterday.
Junmant Crosby, 41, of Poinsetta Extension, Morvant, was said to have been at a site at St Joseph Street, off Santa Cruz Old Road, San Juan, around 10.15 am, when a heavily-tinted white SUV stopped and two armed suspects got out.
It was alleged the men began shooting at Crosby, who was in the company of six other men at the time.
As the group scattered and took cover in nearby bushes, the gunmen continued to pursue them.
As Crosby and the others made their way to the Santa Cruz Old Road, he was cornered by the gunmen and shot as he lay on the road.
The gunmen then walked back into the bushes and returned to the waiting truck.
Meanwhile, an unidentified man died after being stabbed by another man at Busy Corner, Chaguanas, early yesterday.
The African male was said to have been involved in a knife-fight with his killer around 2.10 am near the Unique Store. —Anna-Lisa Paul
