The gyro vendor who died from gunshot wounds to his head last Saturday, was laid to rest this morning following a funeral service at the Scarborough RC Church.
Elias Dabourah, originally from Lebanon, was shot at point-blank range during a robbery at his Crown Point business place on September 9. He succumbed to his injuries at the Scarborough General Hospital last Saturday.
His death brings Tobago's 2019 murder toll to seven.
Family members arrived for the 10 am service one hour ahead of its scheduled start and spent time at his casket. His wife, Sally Hourari, opened the casket for a brief moment, cried, spoke in her native tongue and closed the casket.
