The gy­ro ven­dor who died from gun­shot wounds to his head last Sat­ur­day, was laid to rest this morn­ing fol­low­ing a fu­ner­al ser­vice at the Scar­bor­ough RC Church.

Elias Dabourah, orig­i­nal­ly from Lebanon, was shot at point-blank range dur­ing a rob­bery at his Crown Point busi­ness place on Sep­tem­ber 9. He suc­cumbed to his in­juries at the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal last Sat­ur­day.

His death brings To­ba­go's 2019 mur­der toll to sev­en.

Fam­i­ly mem­bers ar­rived for the 10 am ser­vice one hour ahead of its sched­uled start and spent time at his cas­ket. His wife, Sal­ly Hourari, opened the cas­ket for a brief mo­ment, cried, spoke in her na­tive tongue and closed the cas­ket.
