The NCC host­ed the TTPS, giv­ing a full brief­ing on the pre­pared­ness for the "Taste of Car­ni­val 2022", in ad­her­ence with guide­lines from the Min­istry of Health. De­tails fol­low in this press re­lease from NCC:

 

The Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (NCC) host­ed sev­er­al Se­nior Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice of­fi­cials as part of a guid­ed tour of the Car­ni­val City fa­cil­i­ties, in­clu­sive of the Grand Stand and new­ly re­mod­elled North Park area, at the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah on Feb­ru­ary 4, 2022.

NCC Chair­man, Win­ston “Gyp­sy” Pe­ters and sev­er­al mem­bers of the NCC’s Board and Ex­ec­u­tive wel­comed Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice (Ag.), Mc­Don­ald Ja­cob, and Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice (DCP) Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Joanne Archie, to the Sa­van­nah’s fa­cil­i­ties, giv­ing the TTPS full brief­ing of the Com­mis­sion’s pre­pared­ness ahead of the “Taste of Car­ni­val 2022” events line up.

As part of the vis­it, the TTPS and the NCC toured the fa­cil­i­ties, and held talks on how they would con­tin­ue to work to­geth­er in look­ing af­ter the health and safe­ty of all Car­ni­val City pa­trons and work­ers, for this year’s “Taste of Car­ni­val 2022”.

The two teams al­so re­viewed the Com­mis­sion’s pol­i­cy on at­ten­dance fig­ures for all events at Car­ni­val City. As dis­cussed, con­sis­tent with the Min­istry of Health guide­lines and phys­i­cal dis­tanc­ing man­dates, all Taste of Car­ni­val 2022 events will op­er­ate at a max­i­mum of 50% ca­pac­i­ty, with the Grand Stand be­ing out­fit­ted to com­fort­ably host 1200 pa­trons and the North Park, 1100 pa­trons.
