A 31-year-old Venezue­lan na­tion­al cur­rent­ly is in po­lice cus­tody fol­low­ing his ar­rest dur­ing an an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion con­duct­ed in the Cunu­pia Po­lice Dis­trict on Wednes­day, De­cem­ber 18, 2024.

Ac­cord­ing to a Po­lice Ser­vice state­ment, of­fi­cers from the Cunu­pia Po­lice Dis­trict car­ried out a search in the area dur­ing which the in­di­vid­ual, a res­i­dent of Ram­ber­an Trace, Be­ju­cal, Cunu­pia, was ar­rest­ed for as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer and re­sist­ing ar­rest. In ad­di­tion, he was charged for dri­ving with­out a dri­ving per­mit and dri­ving with­out a cer­tifi­cate of in­sur­ance.

The ar­rest was made by In­ves­ti­ga­tor W/Ag/Cpl Hoyte, with as­sis­tance from In­ves­ti­ga­tor PC Khan.

The po­lice op­er­a­tion, aimed at re­duc­ing crime and en­hanc­ing pub­lic safe­ty, was co­or­di­nat­ed by Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Carthy, Su­per­in­ten­dent Gyan, Act­ing Su­per­in­ten­dent Dipc­hand, Act­ing Su­per­in­ten­dent Singh, and In­spec­tor Dou­glas.
