A 31-year-old Venezuelan national currently is in police custody following his arrest during an anti-crime operation conducted in the Cunupia Police District on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
According to a Police Service statement, officers from the Cunupia Police District carried out a search in the area during which the individual, a resident of Ramberan Trace, Bejucal, Cunupia, was arrested for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. In addition, he was charged for driving without a driving permit and driving without a certificate of insurance.
The arrest was made by Investigator W/Ag/Cpl Hoyte, with assistance from Investigator PC Khan.
The police operation, aimed at reducing crime and enhancing public safety, was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Carthy, Superintendent Gyan, Acting Superintendent Dipchand, Acting Superintendent Singh, and Inspector Douglas. It was supervised by Sergeant McLeod and Corporal Hoyte.
