Du­ane Ta'zyah O'Con­nor has been crowned this year's Ca­lyp­so Monarch.

The 20-year-old son of the 2012 win­ner Du­ane O'Con­nor earned the top prize of $500,000 and a Suzu­ki S-Cross, val­ued at $300,000, "Sing Hal­lelu­jah" at the end of the Di­manche Gras show at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah.

O'Con­nor nar­row­ly beat Ker­ine "Tiny" Williams-Fi­garo, who won the $500,000 sec­ond-place prize as well as the $10,000 Peo­ple's Choice Award.

Last year's win­ner Ter­ri Lyons placed sixth with her song "House Clean­ing".
