Pan Trinbago says it has received the 2026 Steelpan Players’ Remittances, bringing an end to months of uncertainty over payments to musicians who participated in this year’s Panorama competition.
In a social media post yesterday, Pan Trinbago said president Beverley Ramsey-Moore received the cheques and welcomed the receipt of the funds.
Photos shared by the organisation appeared to show a ceremonial cheque valued at $4,785,600 being handed over during the event.
Earlier this year, Pan Trinbago had expressed concern over delays in the disbursement of payments, with players awaiting their remittances following Carnival 2026.
According to the post, the remittances are intended for eligible steelpan players who took part in the 2026 Panorama competition and form part of ongoing efforts to recognise and reward their contributions to Trinidad and Tobago’s national instrument and cultural heritage.
The brief ceremony was also attended by Minister of Culture and Community Development Michelle Benjamin, chairman of the National Carnival Commission (NCC) Peter Kanhai and other NCC commissioners.
Pan Trinbago said further details on the distribution process will be provided through its official channels.
