Even as the investigation into the police-involved killing of a Morvant man on Wednesday continues by the T&T Police Service (TTPS) – a parallel investigation has been launched into the incident by the Police Complaints Authority (PCA).

Ricardo Martin was shot by officers in Vegas, Morvant on February 22, after he allegedly opened fire on them as they patrolled in the community.

He later died at hospital.

PCA officials yesterday confirmed they had started investigating the incident.

An official said, “Yes, we investigate all fatal and non-fatal police-involved shootings automatically.”

The incident occurred at Second Caledonia Extension.

The officer added, “Investigations have started and are ongoing.”

He urged anyone with information to contact the PCA at 226-4PCA (4722) or email info@pca.org.tt.
