A 72-year-old woman was robbed by gun­men of cash and valu­ables on Tues­day af­ter­noon as she com­plet­ed her gro­cery shop­ping at Massy Stores, Wood­brook.

The vic­tim who lives at Robert Street, re­port­ed ex­it­ing the su­per­mar­ket at Kitch­en­er and French Streets around 2.35 pm on Au­gust 8 – and com­ing face to face with two men. One of the sus­pects was armed with a gun, which he point­ed at her and de­mand­ed she hand over her hand­bag.

Fear­ing for her safe­ty, the el­der­ly woman sur­ren­dered the white and brown bag val­ued at US $25; which con­tained one Sam­sung A51 cell-phone val­ued at TT $2,500; one Dig­i­tal Laser Mea­sur­ing De­vice; and her wal­let in which her TTARP card, her Massy-mem­ber­ship card, an RBC cred­it card, a Sco­tia Bank deb­it card, along with oth­er busi­ness cards were kept.

There was al­so $700 in cash and oth­er per­son­al be­long­ings in the bag.

The men then es­caped in a wait­ing car that had been parked along­side her car.
