Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley and Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs Amery Browne par­tic­i­pat­ed in emer­gency meet­ings of CARI­COM heads of gov­ern­ment to dis­cuss the grave sit­u­a­tion in Haiti. The Prime Min­is­ter of Cana­da Justin Trudeau was al­so present at the meet­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease from the Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs, this coun­try joined with fel­low CARI­COM Mem­ber States in sup­port­ing the Unit­ed Na­tions' po­si­tion on Haiti and gave a firm com­mit­ment to sup­ply hu­man­i­tar­i­an and tech­ni­cal as­sis­tance to­ward the re-es­tab­lish­ment of de­mo­c­ra­t­ic gov­er­nance in Haiti.
