An­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es in the Mar­aval and Glen­coe Dis­tricts on Tues­day led to the dis­cov­ery and seizure of quan­ti­ties of mar­i­jua­na, a bul­let­proof vest, ski masks, walkie talkies, along with para­pher­na­lia used for pack­ag­ing drugs.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, the an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the West­ern Di­vi­sion was con­duct­ed be­tween 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Tues­day 7th April 2020.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, West­ern Di­vi­sion Po­lice ex­e­cut­ed a war­rant on cer­tain premis­es at Boissiere Vil­lage in Mar­aval, where noth­ing was found on site. How­ev­er, fur­ther checks led to the dis­cov­ery of 3kg of mar­i­jua­na, one scale, a bul­let­proof vest and two ski masks. They had been hid­den in a riv­er lo­cat­ed at the back of the premis­es. 

Po­lice al­so act­ed on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived about the con­duct of il­le­gal ac­tives at an aban­doned house at La Hor­quette Branch Road, Glen­coe. 

A search at that lo­ca­tion re­sult­ed in the seizure of 3.7kg of high-grade mar­i­jua­na, four walkie-talkies, two rolls of plas­tic and a ma­chine used for pack­ag­ing.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Snr. Supt. Thomp­son, co­or­di­nat­ed by ASP Hen­ry and su­per­vised by Cpl Young. It in­clud­ed mem­bers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Joint Army and Po­lice (J.A.P) Pa­trol Unit and of­fi­cers from the Mount­ed and K9 Branch.
