The Cyber and Social Media Unit of the TTPS is probing a video that surfaced on social media showing a young girl holding and operating a handgun.
The 15-second video, which was heavily circulated yesterday online, showed the girl, who appeared to be no more than six years, holding the gun, which seemed to be a Glock. In the video, a man lying down on a bed encouraged the girl to “show them the gun”.
In the video, which also showed an adult woman walking in the bedroom, the man could also be heard instructing the girl to “crack it, crack it.”
Head of the Special Victim’s Department Superintendent Claire Guy-Alleyne said the Cyber and Social Media Unit was investigating to determine if the video was recorded in this country and when.
Guy-Alleyne condemned the incident.
