Po­lice Of­fi­cers at­tached to East­ern Di­vi­sion Spe­cial Op­er­a­tion Unit have found over $1 mil­lion worth of mar­i­jua­na stuffed in con­crete bricks in a house at Mc­Shine Street, San­gre Grande.

The 55 kilo­grammes of mar­i­jua­na were found wrapped in blue, black and white trans­par­ent plas­tic in 72 bricks and stacked in white cro­cus bags.

Po­lice re­port­ed that around 12:40 pm yes­ter­day, of­fi­cers at­tached to the East­ern Di­vi­sion Op­er­a­tions Unit con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise at Mc­Shine Street, San­gre Grande for il­le­gal firearms and am­mu­ni­tion.

The of­fi­cers, based on sur­veil­lance and in­tel­li­gence, pro­ceed­ed to a wood­en home where the of­fi­cers at­tempt­ed to ex­e­cute a search war­rant for il­le­gal firearms and am­mu­ni­tion.

Sev­er­al calls were made by the po­lice at the wood­en house to the in­di­vid­ual that dwells there and po­lice got no re­sponse.

On check­ing, po­lice heard noise em­a­nat­ing from the house, which caused them to en­ter the house by force.

As the po­lice en­tered, they ob­served sev­er­al white cro­cus bags in which they found the bricks.

No one was ar­rest­ed.

The mar­i­jua­na was con­fis­cat­ed and tak­en to San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion where it was weighed.

The ex­cer­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Aguilal spear­head­ed by Cpl Ram­nar­ine and in­clud­ed PCs Ciel­to, Singh, and Samuel.
