PoSGH delivers four New Year’s Day babies

The coun­try wel­comed its newest cit­i­zens on New Year’s Day, as the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal’s Ma­ter­ni­ty De­part­ment helped de­liv­er four ba­bies yes­ter­day morn­ing. The two girls and two boys were born be­tween 3.09 am and 10.08 am, ac­cord­ing to the North West Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty.

The first ba­by born for the new year at PoS­GH, a girl, was born to Thushan­da Dook­ie.

The sec­ond ba­by, a boy, was born to Shimelle Leon Car­ring­ton. The lit­tle boy was greet­ed by his fa­ther and two grand­moth­ers af­ter a short stint in the Neona­tal In­ten­sive Care Unit (NICU).

The third ba­by, an­oth­er girl, was born to Nicole Ann Wal­ters, while the fourth ba­by, a boy, was born to Cherisse Ealie. All moth­ers were pre­sent­ed with ham­pers by NWRHA staff. Mean­while, a dozen new moth­ers were pre­sent­ed with gift bags at the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal by the East­ern Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty.
