A 26-year-old Princes Town man is expected to go before a San Fernando Magistrate in a virtual hearing today, after being arrested for a robbery which occurred in the district back in September.
An official release from the Police Service says the man—Shakeel James of Cumuto Road, Princes Town—was arrested yesterday, Tuesday 8 December 2020, for the robbery which took place on Wednesday 30th September 2020.
According to police reports, the incident involved a man having his vehicle stolen. The man was seated in his vehicle when he observed two men running towards him. He became afraid for his safety and fled the vehicle. The two suspects then drove away with the vehicle.
A report was made at the Mon Repos Police Station and the investigation was assigned to Sgt Mohammed and PC Clarence, which resulted in the arrest of 26-year-old Shakeel James of Cumuto Road. He was charged with two counts of robbery with violence.
Shakeel James is expected to appear in a virtual hearing at the San Fernando Magistrates Court, today.
