Fifty-five-year-old Ian Beharry has been charged with the murder of his neighbour Devindra Narinesingh. Beharry of Friendship Road, Princess Town is expected to appear virtually before a Princes Town Magistrate tomorrow.
He was charged with the offence on December 14th following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Mrs. Joan Honore-Paul.
According to police reports, Narinesingh, 37, a mechanical technician, also of Friendship Road, Princes Town, was in his garden on October 5th when he was shot in the abdomen by a gunman. He was taken to the Princes Town Health Facility for treatment where he died. The accused was subsequently arrested by police in connection with the incident on November 14th.
. Investigations were supervised by Insp. Maharaj, Sgt. Elvin and Cpl Bridgemohan, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region 3, while Beharry was charged by WPC Stacy Ann George, also of HBI Region 3. Investigators were assisted by officers of the Southern Division.
