Arima has lost a prominent member of its business community with the death of Kenwyn Allen, owner of Allen and Sons Funeral Home.
Allen, who was found unresponsive at his home yesterday, is believed to have suffered a massive heart attack.
In an obituary posted on social media, he was described as “a caring spirit and a steadfast figure in times of sadness.”
“Kenwyn Allen was more than simply a successful businessman, he was also a rock of support for families as they navigated the treacherous landscape of loss,” the obituary stated.
“Because of his compassionate approach and unwavering dedication to consultation provision, Allen and Sons Funeral Home has become a shining example of compassion in Arima.”
Allen recently faced one of the most emotionally taxing experiences of his professional life when he directed the burial services for the four Peterkin siblings who were brutally murdered at their home on September 21.
“Allen’s ability to remain serene and peaceful in the midst of such a heartbreaking event served as a source of solace for the community that was in mourning. Because of his expertise and genuine concern, the funeral home became a safe haven for those who were going through the most difficult times of their lives,” the obituary added.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be finalised.
