The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) says that persistent rainfall in parts of North Trinidad and Tobago has affected operations at some of their surface water treatment facilities.
According to the release the facilities were affected by, "high turbidity and clogged screens caused by flooded rivers arising from heavy rainfall."
The facilities affected in North Trinidad include the Tompire, Matura, Quare, Guanapo, Aripo, Mc David Intake, La Pastora, Caura, Acono and L&N stations.
The facilities affected in Tobago include the Courland, Richmond, Hillsborough West, Highlands Road and Charlotteville stations.
WASA says they will continue to provide updates on the status of the facilities as every effort is being made to return them to service.
