United National Congress sources have deemed as “fake” a letter allegedly “written” by Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally to party leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, in which he resigned as MP.
A spokesman for Persad-Bissessar said she didn’t receive any letter from Rambally. He wasn’t available for comment yesterday. But others close to him claimed it was fake and “dirty tricks”.
Rambally has been silent throughout the recent issue of UNC Mayaro MP Rushton Paray’s challenge to the party leadership to have party’s national executive elections in June. Rambally and MPs Rodney Charles, Rai Ragbir and Anita Haynes-Alleyne are the only MPs who haven’t criticised Paray.
Rambally has hinted broadly that he won’t seek nomination for Chaguanas West again and is expected to speak ahead on it.
