Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of $30,000 in cash from a roti ven­dor’s home on Di­vali af­ter­noon.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the 51-year-old woman was at her Sec­ond Av­enue, Orop­une Gar­dens home at around 5:20 pm when three ban­dits jumped over the back wall of the prop­er­ty.

One of the men, who was armed with a gun, or­dered her to lie on the floor of her liv­ing room and de­mand­ed the mon­ey from her roti sales.

The ban­dits then went to a bed­room, where they stole the cash and two cell­phones be­fore es­cap­ing.

Of­fi­cers of the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion and the North­ern Di­vi­sion Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tions Unit re­spond­ed.
