Nikita Samlal is the first-time winner of Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago Beauty Pageant. The show was held at the Sundar Popo Auditorium, SAPA-South, on Saturday.

Samlal, 24, paraded as Miss Rio Claro and won the title to represent this country in the upcoming Miss Sari International pageant later this year.

The beauty queen is an entrepreneur of her own business, Mix Collection, a clothing line.

After being declared the titleholder, Samlal now has a mission and an agenda to promote young women’s dreams of becoming independent achievers.

From a field of 10 delegates, Samlal, in the and Answer and Question Segment, said if she was to win the title it would be an honour to be the ambassador for this country.

She said she would use the platform to uplift everyone; the vulnerable and especially young women. She said she would shed light on their stories and hope to get results.

“I hope to inspire and uplift all, everybody, especially our young people. To take their traditions and customs with pride, and carry them on. And to inspire other young women to follow their dreams and do what their hearts tell them to do. Don’t allow self-doubt to get in the way of your dreams. I was second runner-up in Miss World 2019 and I didn’t stop there, I decided to try something new…so don’t give up on your dreams, keep trying,” Samlal said.

Miss Sari T&T was held under the patronage of the High Commissioner of India and produced by executive producers Mahindra Rampersad and Erica Caton.
