Ben­e­fi­cia­ries of Se­nior Cit­i­zens Pen­sion, Dis­abil­i­ty and Pub­lic As­sis­tance grants from the So­cial Wel­fare Di­vi­sion should be­gin re­ceiv­ing their cheques from to­day, March 2nd 2020.

Ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial state­ment from the Min­istry of So­cial De­vel­op­ment and Fam­i­ly Ser­vices, the de­lay re­sults from ad­di­tion­al ef­forts to en­sure greater se­cu­ri­ty, in light of sev­er­al re­ports of ben­e­fi­cia­ries not re­ceiv­ing their cheques.

The Min­istry re­ports that it has been work­ing close­ly with TTPost on this is­sue.

Mean­while, per­sons re­ceiv­ing pay­ments via their per­son­al bank ac­counts and di­rect de­posit, are not af­fect­ed by this in­ci­dent.

The Min­istry apol­o­gizes for any in­con­ve­nience to cheque re­cip­i­ents and in­vites af­fect­ed cit­i­zens to call its hot­line, toll free, at 800-1MSD for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion or en­quiries.
