Slain security guard Jerry Stuart was a man who lived for his children and although his family are not yet ready to forgive his killers, they know it is pointless to keep the hate.
Stuart’s son, Jahmare Nesbit yesterday remembered his dad as, “A real hard-working fella.”
Speaking with reporters at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, Nesbit said the father of two, “really loved his children.”
Stuart had been employed with Allied Security Limited for the past 14 years.
He, along with colleague Jeffrey Peters and female guard Peola Baptiste, was ambushed by five gunmen around 5 pm on September 19, during a robbery at the Pennywise Plaza in La Romain.
Stuart and Peters both died at the scene, while Baptiste remains hospitalized in a critical condition.
Nesbit said the true extent of his father’s loss had not yet set in for his grandmother.
He said his father had dreamt of becoming part of the law enforcement community, and although it had not materialized, he was committed to his job.
