“I want my son,” wailed the moth­er of Nicholas Kalloo, af­ter he was fa­tal­ly shot yes­ter­day af­ter­noon.

Kalloo, 35, a straight­en­er, of Pic­ton Street, Di­a­mond Vil­lage, San Fer­nan­do, was in a garage at Gopaul Street Ex­ten­sion, near his home, around 4.15 pm when a car slowed down and the oc­cu­pants opened fire.

Kalloo died at the scene while an­oth­er man, of Crag­nish Vil­lage, Princes Town, was shot in the arm but man­aged to es­cape.

A res­i­dent said the in­jured man was as­sist­ed by vil­lagers, who ban­daged his wound and flagged down a ve­hi­cle to take him to the hos­pi­tal.

Over­come with grief, Kalloo’s moth­er Rad­i­ca held on to the gate as she cried.

As the un­der­tak­ers were leav­ing with the body, she begged to see her son.

Po­lice were still try­ing to as­cer­tain a mo­tive last night.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tion are prob­ing the mur­der.
