En­er­gy Min­is­ter Stu­art Young is act­ing as At­tor­ney Gen­er­al in the ab­sence of AG Faris Al-Rawi who is over­seas.

Young has act­ed as AG on var­i­ous oc­ca­sions be­fore.

He is al­so hold­ing the port­fo­lio in ad­di­tion to his work as Min­is­ter in the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter.

Al-Rawi has gone to do “high-lev­el meet­ings with state agen­cies and le­gal ad­vis­ers on mat­ters of State,” his min­istry in­di­cat­ed.

Mean­while, the Sen­ate meets to­mor­row to de­bate the For­eign Labour Con­tracts Law to re­peal and up­grade ex­ist­ing law con­cern­ing in­duc­ing work­ers–and oth­er con­di­tions—re­gard­ing em­ploy­ment as labour­ers in any for­eign coun­try, The Op­po­si­tion un­cer­tain to sup­port the bill, is cau­cus­ing on it, of­fi­cials said.
