An 18-year-old from Bon Accord is expected to appear before a Scarborough Magistrate today charged with the murder of gyro businessman Elias Dabbourah.
The teen was held two days after the 30-year-old from Syria was shot in the left side of the head during a botched robbery at Crown Point on Sepetmber 9.
During the incident, it is alleged that two armed suspects approached Dabbourah and announced a hold-up, the gyro businessman resisted and was shot.
He died six days after the incident. He never regained consciousness.
Dabbourah was laid to rest on Wednesday.
Last evening, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) gave instructions to charge the teen.
A second suspect who was held inconnection with his murder was released by investigators pending further investigations.
