A 17-year-old boy who was shot during an argument on Sunday night is in critical condition at hospital.
Police said the victim, who lives in Curepe, was at Campbell Street Extension, La Vie Pool Resort, Arouca, at 9.30 pm, when he got into an argument with a man only known as ‘Kevin’.
Shortly after, a gunshot rang out.
The teen was then seen bleeding from his back and was taken to the Arima Medical Facility by relatives, where he was stabilised. He was then transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, but was said to be in a critical condition.
In an unrelated incident, a 26-year-old man from Red Hill, D’Abadie, was shot and critically wounded.
A police report stated that at 8.20 pm, the man was standing along Ali Jhan Lane, Piarco Old Road, Red Hill, D’Abadie, when a suspect approached him from a bushy area and took out a firearm and shot him several times about his body.
The 26-year-old collapsed. He is being treated at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
The attacker ran off.
Pensioner beaten, abducted
Investigations are continuing into the abduction of a pensioner in Freeport on Sunday night.
Police said at 9.30 pm, the 69-year-old victim was at his Arena Road home, when a group of armed persons broke into his house and began beating him.
The pensioner was then forced into a white Hyundai pickup van. He was then taken to a secluded, bushy area along Siewdass Road, Freeport, where he was thrown out of the vehicle.
