Three peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and charged with sev­er­al drug-re­lat­ed of­fences in Ma­yaro. The fol­low­ing is a press re­lease from the TTPS:

Three per­sons were ar­rest­ed and charged in Ma­yaro. Two were charged with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and cul­ti­vat­ing mar­i­jua­na, while the oth­er was charged with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na. On Mon­day 11th Au­gust, the of­fi­cers of the Ma­yaro Task Force, the Emer­gency Re­sponse Pa­trol (ERP) and the Ca­nine Unit were on ex­er­cise du­ty in the Ma­yaro dis­trict when they con­duct­ed search­es for dan­ger­ous drugs and firearms and am­mu­ni­tion.

REN­NIE FRAN­COIS, aka BODOW, 47, and his com­mon law wife VI­JANTIE SAMA­ROO, 50, of Man­zanil­la Road, Ma­yaro, were both ar­rest­ed and charged for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and cul­ti­vat­ing mar­i­jua­na. Dur­ing the search, 1,226 grams of mar­i­jua­na was al­leged­ly found in their house while 93 ful­ly grown mar­i­jua­na trees were re­port­ed­ly found at the back of the house. The charges were laid by WPC Charles. SHARON ADOL­PHUS, 54, of Lewis and Su­cre Street, Ma­yaro, was al­so ar­rest­ed and charged with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na. Dur­ing the search, 360 grams of mar­i­jua­na was al­leged­ly found with­in the house.

The charge was laid by PC Guer­ra. The of­fi­cers searched a va­cant lot at La Sa­van­na Cir­cu­lar, Guayagua­yare, and 50 grams of mar­i­jua­na was found and seized. The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Joseph Chan­dool, Supt Khan and ASP Jankie un­der the su­per­vi­sion of In­sp Ramkissoon.
