Or­ange Hill Gas Sta­tion in To­ba­go re­mained closed af­ter the own­er was shot dur­ing a rob­bery on Tues­day morn­ing.

Scar­bor­ough Po­lice were up to late yes­ter­day prob­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the shoot­ing of the busi­ness­man

The vic­tim has been iden­ti­fied as Ash­ton Col­lette 59, of Num­ber One Vil­lage Street, Mt. St. George.

Col­lette is the own­er of the Or­ange Hill Gas Sta­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the in­ci­dent oc­curred around 5.50 am at his Mt. St. George home.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands he was ap­proach­ing his mo­tor ve­hi­cle which was parked along the street when two men ap­proached him, one armed with a firearm, de­mand­ing cash and valu­ables.

Po­lice said there was a strug­gle and Col­lette was shot in the right leg.

He was tak­en to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment and lat­er air­lift­ed to Trinidad. His con­di­tion has been de­scribed as se­ri­ous, but sta­ble.

The men es­caped with an undis­closed sum of cash, his wal­let con­tain­ing cred­it cards, one Ac­er Lap­top, One Nikon Cam­era and sev­er­al keys.

Sergeant Jonas of the Scar­bor­ough CID is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Po­lice say an ar­rest is im­mi­nent
