Orange Hill Gas Station in Tobago remained closed after the owner was shot during a robbery on Tuesday morning.
Scarborough Police were up to late yesterday probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting of the businessman
The victim has been identified as Ashton Collette 59, of Number One Village Street, Mt. St. George.
Collette is the owner of the Orange Hill Gas Station.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 5.50 am at his Mt. St. George home.
Guardian Media understands he was approaching his motor vehicle which was parked along the street when two men approached him, one armed with a firearm, demanding cash and valuables.
Police said there was a struggle and Collette was shot in the right leg.
He was taken to the Scarborough General Hospital for treatment and later airlifted to Trinidad. His condition has been described as serious, but stable.
The men escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash, his wallet containing credit cards, one Acer Laptop, One Nikon Camera and several keys.
Sergeant Jonas of the Scarborough CID is continuing investigations.
