Tobago investigators are still working to solve the case where four men were ambushed and shot dead in Black Rock last month.
On July 8, Anslem Douglas, Gregory Hamlet, Samuel McCain, and Jamoki Duncan were killed after gunmen wearing camouflage uniforms stormed Douglas’ home around midnight.
Their deaths have raised the island’s toll to 16 for the year.
Speaking to Guardian Media, ACP Collis Hazel said police are carefully investigating the murder and leaving no stone unturned.
“We are keeping that tight because we don’t want to (prematurely) report anything there yet, we are still keeping that tight.”
There has been a heavy police presence across Tobago following the introduction of the Guard and Emergency Branch and Inter-Agency Task Force officers almost two months ago.
Yesterday, Douglas was the last of the four victims to be laid to rest. During his funeral at the Mt Grace Open Bible Church, his daughter Kelliesha Douglas described her father as supportive and nurturing.
In delivering his eulogy she said, “I want everyone to remember daddy as a skilled man, a smart man, a (bush) doctor, a plumber, a family man, a singer, a songwriter. He was everything and he was my everything. Now I don’t view death as the end of life. It’s just the end of the physical life and I know we will reunite in the end.”
