To­ba­go schools will re­main in op­er­a­tion on Mon­day 28 Feb­ru­ary and Tues­day 1st March 2022, be­cause of the de­fer­ral of car­ni­val cel­e­bra­tions in To­ba­go to Oc­to­ber 2022. That's ac­cord­ing to a re­lease is­sued on Sun­day night by the Di­vi­sion of Ed­u­ca­tion, Re­search and Tech­nol­o­gy in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).

The ad­vi­so­ry notes that all schools are ex­pect­ed to pro­ceed with their usu­al sched­ule and ro­ta­tion arrange­ments on Mon­day 28 Feb­ru­ary and Tues­day 1 March 2022—Car­ni­val Mon­day and Tues­day in Trinidad. 

"In this re­gard, prin­ci­pals, teach­ers, sec­ondary school stu­dents of Forms One to Six and pri­ma­ry school stu­dents of Stan­dard Five are ex­pect­ed to re­port to school for face-to-face teach­ing and learn­ing. Stu­dents of In­fants to Stan­dard Four will con­tin­ue class­es vir­tu­al­ly,” the re­lease said.

The Di­vi­sion al­so re-stat­ed its com­mit­ment to en­sur­ing that “all stu­dents are pro­vid­ed a qual­i­ty ed­u­ca­tion­al ex­pe­ri­ence”.  It com­mend­ed “all prin­ci­pals, staff, par­ents and stake­hold­ers for their ef­forts in of­fer­ing our stu­dents the best op­por­tu­ni­ty for aca­d­e­m­ic suc­cess.”
