Tobago has one baby on Christmas Day, up to 5 30 pm on Friday.
According to a release from the Division of Health, Wellness, and Family Development, Christine Joseph-Lewis of Patience Hill delivered her first child at the Scarborough General Hospital at 12:50 pm.
He weighed 2.983 kg.
The release said Joseph -Lewis praised the service she received at the hospital, saying it was "excellent."
"The theatre staff, the staff at Maternity, they were very supportive, caring, kind set of individuals," the release quoted the mother as saying.
During a simple ceremony, councillor Tracy Davidson Celestine, Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Family Development along with Dr. Victor Wheeler, Medical Chief of Staff and Sarah Celestine-Balfour, Secondary Care Nursing Manager presented Joseph-Lewis with gifts.
Congratulating the mother on her delivery, Davidson-Celestine told her: "It is important that you keep your family together because a healthy family means a healthy Tobago…."
In keeping with COVID-19 restrictions, no media was allowed at the hospital.
