A trop­i­cal storm watch is now in ef­fect for To­ba­go as of 4:26 PM to­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice, “as at 2 PM to­day, the cen­tre of TS Gon­za­lo is lo­cat­ed near 9.7N 48.8W. Trop­i­cal Storm con­di­tions are ex­pect­ed to af­fect To­ba­go from the morn­ing of Sat­ur­day (25th) Ju­ly 2020.”

“Pe­ri­ods of heavy to in­tense show­ers and/or thun­der­storms are like­ly. Heavy/in­tense down­pours can re­sult in street/flash flood­ing. Gusty winds in ex­cess of 85 km/hr can be ex­pect­ed and the risk of land­slides/land­slips is very high in ar­eas so prone. Sea con­di­tions are al­so like­ly to be­come oc­ca­sion­al­ly rough.”

They are ad­vis­ing the pub­lic to pre­pare to pro­tect lives, liveli­hood, and prop­er­ty. Al­so, pre­pare a sur­vival kit, plan you evac­u­a­tion to a shel­ter if it be­comes nec­es­sary and al­ways have emer­gency sup­plies of food and wa­ter on stand­by.
