Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of food ham­pers from the PNM's Ch­agua­nas of­fice, lo­cat­ed on the cor­ner of Chrissie Ter­race and Lendore Vil­lage in En­ter­prise.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands a watch­man on du­ty at the of­fice checked on the five se­cured ham­pers around 11:50 pm on Box­ing Day.

When the watch­man re­turned to the com­pound around 4:00 am on Fri­day, he dis­cov­ered the ham­pers were miss­ing.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­viewed CCTV footage, which showed a man walk­ing on­to the com­pound and steal­ing the goods.

When con­tact­ed for com­ment, a PNM of­fi­cial from Ch­agua­nas East said he was un­aware of the thefts, as all ham­pers had al­ready been dis­trib­uted.

"I can con­firm that all of our goods were giv­en out, so I don't know about that mat­ter in par­tic­u­lar," he stat­ed.

Of­fi­cers from the Ch­agua­nas CID are con­tin­u­ing their en­quiries.
